OUR STORY
Rainbow Medical Devices was started to fill a product void from a safety concern in the OR surgical suite when closing invasive procedures in the abdominal area. Our Viscera Retainer device offering, assists physicians in a safe closure procedure avoiding
any organ nicks or cuts during suture closing.
The device was designed from a self contained and continuous improvement perspective for easier use and extraction at the end
of the procedure. The device comes in four sizes to match to the size of the patient: small, medium, large, and extra large.
Some of the other design details not mentioned on the home page are in how the pull cord is attached, if one of the two stands
on the pull cord are accidently cut during a procedure, the Retainer will still be able to be pulled out by the second strand on
the pull cord.
The Sterilization method used for the Retainer is Gamma Irradiation. The Retainer and packaging has a validated 3 year shelf life.
